How to find a lost or stolen Android device

Is your Android device lost or stolen? In this blog, you're gonna learn how to find a lost or stolen device.

1. Use Google's Find my Device
If your lost or stolen Android device is signed in to your Google Account then this feature is already turned on and you can go to android.com/find and sign in to your Google Account. You will see the device's location, connected network and battery if the device is connected to internet. It also gives you 3 options to find and control your lost or stolen device.

Option 1:Play Sound
This will make the device ring for 5 minutes even if it's on silent.

Options 2:Secure Device
When you tap this option, Find my Device will ask you to set up a password. This password will be used to lock your phone so no one can access it.

Option 3:Erase Device
All data will be erased on your Android phone.

2. Use Samsung's Find my Mobile
This feature is for Samsung devices only. To enable Find my Mobile, go to security settings then turn on Find my Mobile. You do need a Samsung account to use this feature. When your Samsung device is lost or stolen, go to findmymobile.samsung.com and sign in to your Samsung account. The features you get depends on your Samsung device.

5. Track lost or stolen Android device using WhatsApp/Telegram
You have to install Recover Lost Phone using Chat Messages for this to work. Once you installed it, open it up, tap Accept and grant necessary permissions then close it. Now, you have to send one of the commands below using WhatsApp or Telegram.

Commands:
Location 1234:Sends location of the device. Error message is sent sometimes.
Siren 1234:Device will ring for 10 seconds.
Vibrate 1234:Makes the device vibrate for 10 seconds
Battery 1234:Sends the battery of the device.
Torch 1234: Flashlight will turn on for 30 seconds
Help 1234:Sends all the commands you can send.
App 1234:Sends the Play Store link of the app.

Why is Auto-Reply not sent sometimes?
1. You opened chat of that person on WhatsApp/Telegram
2. You have muted notifications for that contact on WhatsApp/Telegram
3. You have blocked notifications from the app info of WhatsApp/Telegram
